Ryan & Jessica were married on 12/16/2010 at Heritage Gardens. They had such fun details & colors that I wanted to share their wedding planning story with you.  Winter is almost nearing an end so be sure to check back soon for Spring weddings.

How they met~ “Ryan and I met in High School though a mutual friend. It’s actually kind of a funny story; we were going on a double date, but Ryan was not my date. The girl that was supposed to go with him ended up not being able to come so it turned into just being the three of us and by the end of the evening I knew that I wanted to see him again. We went to prom and we’ve been together ever since.”

How Jessica came up with the theme~“One of the first things Ryan taught me was how to snowboard. He was so patient, and now it is one of our favorite things to do together. I never imagined that I would get married in the winter, I always thought that it would be fall, but because of extenuating circumstances it ended up that way and now I’m so glad that it did. I absolutely loved my winter wonderland wedding.”

Jessica’s favorite part of the wedding~ “My favorite part of the wedding had to be all of the people that came to show their love and support. I never even imagined that I knew that many people, and to see friends that I hadn’t seen in years was very special.”

What Jessica learned~ “Is that I never want to do this again. You always dream about planning the perfect wedding but you never dream about how much it really takes to put one together. I had three months to plan because my husband is in the army and would be home on leave soon and we didn’t know when he would have to return, so we had a small window of opportunity, and we took it. On top of full time school and full time work planning a wedding was the last thing on my mind at times. Don’t get me wrong though, I wouldn’t take back one second of the experience but I sure am glad that it’s over. The result has been better than I could have ever imagined.”

What she would do differently~
“I honestly don’t think that I would change a thing. All of the little snafus are what makes a wedding a wedding, you always remember the things that went wrong better than the things that went right and those are the ones that you end up laughing about the most later.”

This series of photos were taken for a “self assignment.” I don’t have a lot to say about these photos except I hope to continue my “self assignments” during 2010. It is a way that I can learn a new type of photography, challenge myself and perhaps remember why I love to photograph almost anything.

November 24, 2009

It is thanksgiving this week, and I have been thinking a lot about my life and all that I have. Last week I was able to hear a wonderful photographer speak about giving back through photography. A few weeks before that I was the accompanist on the piano for a musical number by Josh Groban called “Thankful.” Both of these events have given me a lot to think about, so I would like to give back this holiday season with my photography skills. If you know of an organization that is non-profit, a family, or an individual that is in need of photography services, you may nominate them for my “Thankful” package. (The details of the package will be determined by the situation of the recipient, but there will be no charge for the full resolution digital files and a small sampling of prints will be given as part of the package. Full wedding packages not available for nomination.) To nominate, please leave a comment on my blog without the names of those involved, or send a message to me through Facebook. All nominations must be in by December 31st. I hope that each of us can think of something to be thankful for and pass on our thanks to those around us. Lots of love to you all! Andrea

Snow, Sunshine, and Football

February 9, 2009

Here are some photos of a really cute family that were taken awhile ago. Here’s the deal, I took their pictures in the FALL for their Christmas Cards, and didn’t post any of their fabulous pictures. Then, right AFTER Christmas I took some more pictures of them and their extended family in the snow. Hmmmm. I am really behind. So if you are confused why there is sunshine, green grass, and snow all mixed into one post it is because I am a slacker! On a personal note, my daughter had a crush on one of these cute boys, “Mr. B” for a long time. He is the oldest boy out of the bunch and after meeting him, I approve, although my daughter is too young for this kind of thing………! I had a great time with this family, and wow, they are a fun, good looking bunch. The dad even cooperated, (maybe his wife threatened him) but as soon as I packed up my camera, he was off to see the rest of the BYU football game. Now that is dedication.

I am still alive!!! (Barely)

January 10, 2009

Well hello! It has been a very busy holiday season for me and I have missed posting photos from my photo sessions on my blog. It was just one thing that I cut out because there were many other things I put first. Thank you for a wonderful 2008. I have enjoyed photographing so many of you at weddings, family sessions, family reunions, engagement sessions, senior sessions, and baby sessions! If you decide to re-book me, I will give a 10% repeat customer discount on your sitting fee and of course referrals are always welcome! You are the reason I have a successful business. Thank you! I hope 2009 is great for all of you!

So check out these FABULOUS card designs… (Oh yeah and how about the ROCKIN‘ photos in the cards?)
