Enchanted

March 27, 2009

Anyone who knows me well knows how much I adore anything that shimmers or is glittery. I adore these pictures for that reason. They are just enchanting! If I could make everything in my world glittery I would. Oh, yes I would! Trust me, a little glitz can go a long way!

So how did I get these pictures you ask? Well I was lucky enough to be invited by a local school to take pictures of Ronnie Price from the Utah Jazz for their cool assembly. Every year there is a reading contest among many Utah Schools and the school which has the most minutes read wins a visit from a Jazz player. In addition to winning the visit, the principal of this local school told the children as a reward she would dress up in a chicken costume. In some of the shots you will see Ronnie doing the chicken dance with the children and the principal in her chicken attire. Ronnie also read a a fun book and did some fancy slam dunks. It was great to be the official photographer because I got to roam around wherever I wanted for the photos. The only problem? School gymnasiums have horrible lighting and very high ceilings. It makes lighting the photos a challenge, but hey I am up for that. Especially when it comes to taking pics. of a Jazz player!

Frozen Love

March 24, 2009

What a cool day for a shoot! LITERALLY! It was the first week of December and the temperature dropped a whole LOT on the very day this adorable couple wanted to shoot their engagement photos. They were both good sports during the entire frigid event. In between clothing changes we de-thawed inside the JSM building for a bit and snapped a few photos as well. Overall, these two lovebirds were having a great time, and so did I. (Even if I couldn’t feel my fingers and toes.) Oh and just wait…..the photos from the bridals and wedding are soon to come.

Falling in Love

March 12, 2009

I shot this wedding last September and let me tell you I think fall is a fabulous time to get married. With gorgeous leaves, nice cool weather, pumpkins, caramel apples, and let’s not forget about Halloween. What is there not to love about it? This darling couple decided after the ceremony we would sneak away from the church and take photos at a nearby park. We had such a great time and I must say it was pretty cool to capture a few photos of the couple on a Harley. There was just something in the air that day, maybe it was more than just it being my favorite time of year. Oh yes now I remember, it was a young couple crazy in love and you can’t beat that!

It’s All in the Name

March 9, 2009

I took photos of these three cuties last November, and it was so cold I can’t believe they weren’t crying the entire time. What a lucky family to have three beautiful girls. The coolest part is that this trio are all named after U.S. Presidents. So what’s in a name you ask? Apparently everything. Names identify us for the rest of our lives and as Shakespeare so poignantly penned in Romeo and Juliet the anguish felt over a name. Well I am not going to tell you what the names are, but they are sweet and very fitting to each of the girls. Maybe you can guess what they are?
